The following was taken from Heidi's Caring Bridge website and explains her diagnosis.
I had a PET/CT scan that showed a lung lesion, lung lymph node, and some spots on the liver in addition to the bone spots which were in my femur, hip, pelvis, vertebrae, ribs and shoulder. I had a biopsy of the lung tumor which came back as adenocarcinoma. So, I have lung cancer, at 35, with no risk factors and metastases to the bone and liver.
I will touch base with Heidi/Mark each week (or month, or whatever timeframe works best), and I'll find out what their needs/wants are, plus I'll make some suggestions. Then, I'll blog about them. After that, you can check out the blog, and decide how you might be able to help. I’m checking on a website called Lotsa Helping Hands that might help coordinate this better. We may have to play with it a bit to see what will work best.
How You Can Help: For now, all you'll need to do is use the Comment section after each blog and explain which need you would like to fill. If it is something that requires money, you can either coordinate it on your own, or use the Donate button, and I will coordinate it. I will keep a record of who donates and what he/she contributes in a spreadsheet, which you may access at any time.
Other Ways to Help: If you have something you would like to do that isn’t on the list, you are encouraged to do that too. It would be great if you would either blog about it in the Comments section, or you email me (kim_kourany@hotmail.com), and I will add it to the blog and indicate whether you are taking care of it or if you need help.
Please don't hesitate to contact me at any time with comments or suggestions.
